Summerwood is a family friendly, master-planned community located in Humble ISD. Designed by Newland Communities, Summerwood has many amenities throughout the neighborhood. Just driving in from Beltway 8, you are welcomed with two large waterfalls on either side of Lake Houston Parkway. There are lakes and fountains throughout the neighborhood. Spend a day at the lakes feeding the ducks, having a picnic, or walking the trails around the lakes and all through Summerwood.
Bring the children to one of the many parks in the community, not to mention one of the largest lakeside parks in the area…Deussen Park. You can grill, reserve covered areas, and host birthday parties and get-togethers. Duessen Park also has several boat launches granting Summerwood easy access to Lake Houston. If that’s not enough, visit one of the splash pads or pools in the neighborhood to cool off during the hot summer months.
Summerwood has two beautiful recreational centers that offers rooms to host parties or meetings. Summerwood Central has a cardio room with treadmills, bikes and elliptical machines. There is a weight room across from the cardio room. There are also neighborhood activities held during various holidays to get the neighbors together. Local vendors sponsor the activities, give out gifts and donate door prizes. Holiday Festivities include the Winter Festival with SNOW, community Easter Egg Hunt, and Fall Festival with games and a costume contest. The neighborhood also hosts casino nights and other activities to get the neighbors out to meet one another.
As far as crime in the neighborhood, Summerwood has a crime watch committee and they meet regularly to discuss and brainstorm ideas to keep the community safe and crime-free. The neighborhood also has a Neighborhood Crime Watch Facebook Page. Summerwood neighbors are encouraged to post any suspicious activity on the page to keep neighbors aware and informed. Lastly, Summerwood is a NO SOLICITING neighborhood so no one should be knocking on your door that you are not familiar with.

Summerwood has recycling pick up every Thursday and heavy trash pick up occurs once a month. Summerwood also has bi-annual community garage sales. This is a great way to team up with your neighbors to get rid of unwanted items and maybe even pick up a few new things.
